The Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development in Bauchi State, Adamu Babayo Gabarin, hailed football as a powerful avenue for uniting Nigerians across all divides. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Arewa Consultative Forum’s Unity Football Tournament 2025, he emphasized that sport transcends ethnic, regional, and political lines, fostering a sense of common identity and national pride.

Gabarin expressed immense pride in Bauchi State’s triumph over Gombe in the tournament’s thrilling final. The victory, he noted, was not a coincidence but the direct outcome of the state’s renewed commitment to reviving its sporting sector and providing young athletes with the resources they need to excel.

Under his leadership, the Ministry of Youth and Sports has prioritized creating an environment where talent can flourish. “This win belongs to our youth,” Gabarin said, adding that the success validates the policies and programs implemented to nurture athletic development in Bauchi.

The commissioner was accompanied at the final by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary and other respected leaders, all of whom witnessed the remarkable display of skill and sportsmanship. The match reinforced his belief that tournaments like this are indispensable tools for promoting unity, peace, and youth empowerment.

Gabarin pledged continued full support for similar initiatives, promising to build on the momentum generated by the victory. He announced plans to expand sporting opportunities across the state, aiming to produce even more talent that can represent Bauchi on national and international stages.

The trophy, he concluded, symbolizes collective progress and a bright future for Bauchi State. It stands as a testament to what can be achieved when government, athletes, and communities unite behind a common goal—using sport as a catalyst for lasting unity and development.
