ARABA RUFUS AIYENIGBA'S SDP PR NIGHTMARE

By Kingsley Ogu, Our Reporter

Our investigative team has uncovered a web of deceit and misinformation surrounding a recent statement issued by Araba Rufus Aiyenigba, the National Publicity Secretary of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), dated June 30, 2025. The statement, which appeared to be aimed at tarnishing the image of the National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, was found to be a gross misrepresentation of facts.

Our investigation revealed that the National Chairman's letter dated June 5, 2025, was a response to demands made by the Coalition Members and was subjected to the meeting of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the SDP for approval of the said 9 offices in question. The letter was clear and direct, without any complications or disregard to due process or the party constitution.

Further investigation revealed that the publication by Araba Rufus Aiyenigba contained factual inaccuracies and misinterpretations. It appears that the National Publicity Secretary's actions were motivated by a desire to undermine the National Chairman's leadership.

We obtained a letter addressed to the National Chairman by the Coalition Secretary, Hon. Chille W. Igbawua, which corroborates our findings. The letter shows that the National Chairman's response was in line with the party's constitution and guidelines.

Our investigation has shown that the publication by Araba Rufus Aiyenigba was not based on facts, but rather on a narrative that is not supported by evidence. We urge the general public to be cautious of such publications and to seek out multiple sources of information before forming an opinion.

The SDP crisis has highlighted the importance of fact-checking and verification in journalism. As independent observers, it is our duty to report the truth and hold those in power accountable.

In conclusion, our investigation has exposed the discrepancies in the publication by Araba Rufus Aiyenigba. We hope that this report will contribute to a better understanding of the situation and promote transparency and accountability within the SDP.
