Gombe State University Management to Reduce Tuition Fee Hike After NANS Intervention

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has secured a major victory for Gombe State University students after meeting with the university management. Led by Professor Sani Ahmad Yauta, the management agreed to work out modalities to reduce the recent tuition fee hike.

In a statement signed by NANS Vice President External Affairs Senator Mu'azu Hina praised Governor Mohammadu Inuwa Yahaya's education policy, applauding his commitment to improving the standard of education in Gombe State. 

Governor Yahaya's leadership style is inclusive, and he has demonstrated a willingness to listen to the concerns of the people and work towards finding solutions.

Governor Yahaya's efforts to build a better Gombe have not gone unnoticed, and his dedication to the development and growth of the state is truly commendable. His administration's achievements in education, healthcare, and infrastructure development are a testament to his hard work and commitment to the people of Gombe State.

The meeting was a significant step towards addressing student concerns, with NANS expressing grievances over the 120% tuition fee increment. The association emphasized the financial burden on students, and Professor Yauta's administration was commended for engaging with NANS.

The Vice President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) applauded the State's Director of the State Security Service ,Gombe State command and the Gombe State Commissioner of Police for their swift intervention in resolving the tuition fee hike issue at Gombe State University . 

Their timely response helped to prevent further escalation of the situation, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the state. The Vice President's praise acknowledged the crucial role played by these security officials in finding a solution that benefited all parties involved.

Professor Yauta and his administration were praised for their willingness to engage with NANS and address student concerns. The meeting marked a significant milestone in the relationship between the university management and the student body.

A key outcome of the meeting was the promise to facilitates the building a new students' centre and sports complex by the vice Chancellor. The proposed complex would provide state-of-the-art facilities for sports, recreation, and social events, enhancing the overall student experience.

The meeting between NANS and the Gombe State University Management demonstrated the power of dialogue and collaboration. By working together, the two parties found common ground and worked towards a solution benefiting everyone.

Recall that, the tuition fee hike had sparked widespread outrage among students and parents, with many expressing concerns about the financial implications. NANS had issued a 78-hour ultimatum to Professor Yauta to reverse the decision.
