Dogara's Still suffering from a lost of political relevance: Nduka

The transparency and accountability group known as Youths for Democracy and good governance (YDGG) has described the statements by the former Speaker of the house of representatives Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara against the person of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed CON (Kauran Bauchi) as another fiction. 

The group made this known in Abuja through it spokesman Orji Nduka describing Dogara as someone who lacks credibility and integrity to tarnish the image of the Bauchi Governor who has served this nation in various capacities, first as senator and later Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

They alleged that, In 2018, during his tenure as Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara purchased a property in Maitama valued at over N4.5 billion. The property acquisition has raised eyebrows due to the circumstances surrounding the transaction.

According the group, The seller, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar, is the owner of A. A. Oil and has been implicated in the Malabu oil scandal. This high-profile case involves alleged corruption and mismanagement of oil resources, and Abubakar's involvement has raised questions about the legitimacy of the property sale.

The Malabu oil scandal is a complex and controversial issue, with several high-ranking officials and business leaders implicated. The case centers around the sale of Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 245, which has been the subject of numerous investigations and legal proceedings.

Dogara's acquisition of the property has sparked concerns about the use of public office for personal gain. As Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dogara held a position of significant influence and power, and some have questioned whether he used this position to facilitate the property purchase.

The transaction has also raised questions about transparency and accountability in Nigeria's public sector. With many officials facing scrutiny for their financial dealings, the case highlights the need for greater oversight and accountability in public office.
