Nigerian Anti-Corruption Defenders Network Commends Nigerian Police Force for Laudable Investigation
23rd July 2024
The Nigerian Anti-Corruption Defenders Network (NACDN) commends the Nigerian Police Force for their outstanding investigation into the massive fraud within the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria. Under the disciplined and professional leadership of DIG Alabi Abiodun, the ACTU Unit X-Squad Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja has uncovered significant fraudulent activities.
The Inspector General of Police is diligently overseeing this critical investigation and deserves high praise for his commitment to justice. We acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the entire team involved in this investigation. Senior civil servants are closely monitoring the situation and will firmly resist any attempts to obstruct or interfere with this vital inquiry.
It is alarming to learn about the extent of the fraud, such as Alade Bashir Lawal owning a house worth over $1 million in Banana Island and several properties in Dubai. Such corruption is unacceptable, and we urge all citizens to remain vigilant as this investigation unfolds.
No one is above the law. We warn anyone attempting to intervene or cover up this fraud that their actions will be exposed. The Nigerian Civil Servants Association cannot continue to struggle in poverty while their union leaders amass unexplained wealth.
Nigerians are keenly interested in the outcome of this investigation, and we hereby pass a vote of confidence in the police team conducting this crucial work. The NACDN assures the Nigerian Police Force of the full support of the citizens in their relentless fight against corruption
