Arewa Youths thank Buhari,Call for immediate Confirmation of Hashidu.

The National leadership of Arewa Youths Advocate for Peace and Unity Initiative has demand an immediate Screening and Confirmation of Dr. Umar Abubakar Hashidu as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the North East Development Commission.

The group made this known in Bauchi on Friday by its National President Sani Mohammed during an interactive Session with Newsmen in Bauchi. According to him, Hashidu’s nomination follows the track records of his late father who served the nation honestly and deligently when he was an Executive Governor of Gombe State.

It is a week since President Muhammadu Buhari asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of 12 nominees as members of the Governing Board of the North East Development Commission (NEDC) with Hashidu as the MD/CEO.The Sensitivity of Areas like NEDC should not be taken for granted as thousands from the region are looking up to this commission for survival.

In accordance with the provision of Part 1, section 2(5)(b) of the North East Development Commission Establishment Act, 2017, the names and the list of the nominees have been summited by Mr President. What is taking the Senate this long to confirm the hardworking Young man that his nomination was greeted by applauses and joy by the entire Youths of North.

Our request for the immediate Confirmation of his nomination by the Senate is in line with Mr President expression of confidence that his request ‘‘will receive the usual expeditious consideration and confirmation of the Senate.

We are adding our voice to Mr President earlier submission and request to have them confirm as those who knows the importance and roles this commission is playing in stabilizing the North East region that has been ravaged by the activities of the dreaded Boko Haram kingpins.

One key note of our consideration is the age of the nominee who is a member of the Youths Constituency and we shall not allow anyone for his selfish motives and interest to deny us the opportunity to lead this Commission. He is one of us and is appointment is base on his ability, capacity and capability to manage the growing Political discussion of Marginalization of the greater stakeholders in the country (The Youths).

We have hundreds of youths across the country that are changing the narratives both at the State and the national Government. The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC and the Executive Secretary of Kaduna Investment Promotion agency (KADIPA) are doing wonderfully well by saving and attracting billions to the Government,We see no reason why Dr. Hashidu Cannot change the narratives in the NEDC.

DRUG SHORTAGE CRISIS: NYCN DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY FROM FTH GOMBE
