Gombe Central: Groups reiterate supports to former Minister Idris returns to the Senate in 2023.

From: Musa Gana

As the 2023 General elections draws near in Nigeria, Yamaltu Deba Students Association has endorsed for two term Member of the House of Representatives and former Minister of Transportation under the administration of the former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for Gombe Central Senatorial Seat. Barrister Idris Umar is former Senator that represented the Zone in 2007 before his appointment as the Minister.

According to the group his endorsement became necessary having all the requisite experience to take the zone out  of the woes. As the son of the soil ,We as students have consulted widely within and outside the boundaries of Yamaltu Deba Local Government and come with this communique to openly declare support for the return of our former Senator and our son who has done more than enough to earned our trust.

This is a renewed bid of ensuring that credible candidate emerges as senator to Gombe central in the next Political dispensation that Yamaltu Deba Students Association issued this communique. We shall stand firm and ensure money is not use to influence voting pattern of our delegates. It has been a long cultural practices where delegates sell the future of their constituents through money influence and this our endorsement is coming at due time.

In a statement signed and made available to our correspondent on Wednesday  Musa Gana by the National President of Comrade Dauda Isa described the former Minister has all its takes to salvage the zone from the current plight. We want to make it clear and in unequivocal terms that the YADSA will remain resolute in its determination to ensure that a credible and God-fearing Politician emerge as our Candidate is supported to win the Senate election under any political party come 2023.

This is what we have been doing since 1999 and will continue to do as we demand for good Governance and quality leadership within the zone and beyond. To this end, we want to state clearly without mincing words, that YADSA works towards this loudable crusade to make Gombe Central a more better place. We took this resolution on the 30th July,2021 after our Executives Meeting at DEBE National Headquarters

The attention of the national association of Yamaltu Deba Students Association (YADSA) Leadership are aware of the ongoing scheme and political maneuverings by some powerful and influential politicians to cause division amongst our delegates so as to create chaos during our delegates Conference. We are also aware that a Rtd.General has been recruited and commissioned to influence our Secretariat to slot in the name of delegates by a Serving Senator who is nursing the national secretariat, slot into some  list of persons shortlisted to be considered as delegates.

We shall resist all those attempts and ensure that only candidates with Political noturing are supported in the next coming Gombe Central Senatorial District elections. Barr.Abdullahi Idris umar currently stands out as the  only candidate with requisite experience and knowledge to pilot the affairs of Gombe Central. It is only and no one else will have our endorsement and our consideration ahead of the next elections.

The staff of the Secretariat are hereby warned not to present any names of delegates  nominated from the grassroots for consideration as the case in 2015.The group pointed out that its National president, Comrade Dauda isa has advice that no other consideration shall be made or entertained during the Delegates congresses.

We are calling on all the relevant stakeholders from Yamaltu Deba to forward our request into consideration as we all agreed at our level and resolved that this must be obeyed and strictly adhere to. We would like to reiterate that no amount of intimidation, harassment or inducement in whatever, will make us to change our decision. This is our stand point and there is no going back. The group emphasize
