Damagum's Suspension a Step in the Right Direction - Arewa Youths

From: Abdullahi Bello

The Arewa Youths Advocate for Peace and Unity Initiative has commended Samuel Anyanwu for suspending the PDP National Chairman, Umar Damagum. In a statement signed by the National President, Rt. Hon. Sani Mohammed, the suspension was described as timely. This development has brought a sense of relief to many Nigerians who were worried about the direction of the party.

According to the group, Damagum has been a major setback for the opposition party. His actions were seen as a hindrance to the party's progress and growth. The group stated that the party's inability to make progress was largely due to Damagum's leadership. Many party members have been critical of his leadership style.

The group also criticized the handling of the Ibadan plan convention. They felt that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, was being unfairly treated. The group described his actions as a betrayal of trust and sacrifice made by the former Governor of Rivers State. This perceived betrayal has led to widespread discontent within the party.

Let us continue to embrace ourselves and pretend about the crisis in PDP. The party's problems are complex and multifaceted. Wike is not the problem because there is no way he can destroy the house he kept alive when PDP lost power in 2015.

Without Wike, PDP would completely seize to exist. The party's survival and success owe a great debt to his efforts. Those who are claiming ownership of the party left the party during its darkest days. They abandoned the party when it needed them most and now they want to reap where they did not sow.

The same Wike did everything to revive the party. He worked tirelessly to keep the party afloat during its difficult times. His efforts paid off, and the party's survival is largely attributed to his contributions. It is essential to acknowledge his role in keeping the party alive.

I am happy that the right thing is done to end impunity in the party. The suspension of Damagum is a welcome development. It is a step in the right direction towards healing and rebuilding the party. The party needs to focus on its core values and principles to regain its footing in the country's political landscape.

The PDP's future looks uncertain, but one thing is clear: the party needs to find a way to move forward. The party's internal crisis may not be over yet, but the suspension of Damagum is a significant development. The party's survival depends on its ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances.
