APC's Ukachukwu Pledges "New Dawn" for Anambra as By-Election Campaigns Close
From: Faith Johnson
The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the November 8, 2025, election in Anambra State, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has declared a "new dawn" for the state as campaigns for the Anambra South Senatorial by-election drew to a close. Ukachukwu rallied support for the APC's senatorial candidate, Sir Azuka Okwuosa, emphasizing that a victory for the party would mark the beginning of responsive governance and development in the state.
Addressing party faithful and supporters at Oye Market in Nnewi South Local Government Area, Ukachukwu stressed that the August 16 poll is a crucial step towards genuine change in Anambra. "This election is not just about who represents Anambra South in the Senate," he said. "It is about declaring that Anambra will no longer settle for neglect and empty promises. A vote for APC is a vote for that new dawn."
In a notable unscheduled visit, Ukachukwu stopped by St. Peter Claver's Catholic Church, Utuh, where the Catholic Women Organization (WCO) was holding its annual August Meeting. He assured the women of targeted support for the needy if elected and praised Okwuosa as a quality candidate for the Senate. The women warmly responded, pledging their support and saying, "For remembering us, God will remember you."
At Ebenator Central School, Ukachukwu told party loyalists that "the people can no longer be deceived" and urged them to vote APC as the starting point for change. APC Chairman for Ebenator, Sam Chibueze Oramalu, echoed his confidence, proclaiming that "no other party exists here" and promising a total victory for APC on Saturday.
Ukachukwu also made development pledges during his campaign stop at St. Junior Primary School, Amichi, vowing to bring government closer to the people and end years of neglect. He promised agricultural grants and seedlings for farmers, business support for traders, and empowerment schemes for the youth. "The APC remains the true party to protect your interests," he said, urging voters to turn out in force.
The APC's campaign activities, which officially ended today, struck a tone of urgency and resolve, with Ukachukwu's message met with chants of solidarity and promises of support from the crowds. Rt. Hon. Ukkasha Hamza Rahama, SA to the Deputy National Chairman North of the APC, described the outing as a huge success and called on Anambra citizens to support Prince Ukachukwu's campaign drive for prosperity.
As the by-election approaches, the APC is confident of securing victory, with Ukachukwu and Okwuosa's campaigns gaining significant traction among voters. The outcome of the election is expected to shape the political dynamics in Anambra ahead of the November gubernatorial contest.
