NANS urges FG to fastrack investigation on alleged degrees scandals to save innocent Nigerian Students in Cotonou/Togo.


The National Vice President External Affairs of the Nigerian Students apex body Sen.Mu’azu Hinna said  federal government suspension of  evaluation and accreditation of degree n and Togo Republics is a welcome development.

He made the disclosure in Gombe in a media chart with newsmen and described the move as the best in recent times which will go a long way in checkmating the substandard degrees been procured illegally. 

According to him, The Federal Ministry of Education must deploy the necessary steps to check the nefarious means and unconscionable methods to get a degree with the end objective of getting graduate job opportunities for which they are not qualified.

The Nigerian apex body has called on the Federal Government to protect Nigerian Students who are genuinely pursuing their degrees in the certified universities in the aforementioned countries.

He called on the Nigerian stakeholders on education to support the federal government efforts of championing the course of educational reforms across the country. 

It followed an investigative report by a popular newspaper on how a reporter bagged a Cotonou varsity degree in 6 weeks. 

He therefore urge the Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of education to fastrack its investigation to save innocent Nigerian Students from becoming victims as not all Universities in the said countries are into this alleged degrees scandals. He said.
