The former Minister of youths and sports development Barr. Solomon Dalung has described Sheirk Dahiru Usman Bauchi as a father of the nation who worked tirelessly in uniting the country through his Islamic knowledge as a reknown Islamic Scholar .The former Minister said, Sheirk Dahiru is my father who gave me all necessary support in and outside government as one of his child.

In a post facebook post from his official page ,he was qouted as saying ;
I joined the entire Muslim world to celebrate an exceptional personality, a rear gem, a father figure, bridge builder and an Islamic scholar of repute, SHEIKH DAHIRU BAUCHI, who turned 93 few days ago.

As a father, he showed me love as one of his children even though I am a Christian. Mallam will beckon upon me anytime there's anything that will threathen peaceful co-existence in the North. Being with him enriched my knowledge of islam because there's no dull intellectual moment.

Shehi is a detribalized Nigerian who cherished and respect our diversity as a people. His unrivaled love for peace and unity amongst the two faiths endeared him to me as a spiritual 

He concludes saying that in 2017 ,he was at residence of the reknown Muslim Scholar on his invitation for breaking of Ramadan fast and he said ;
I love you sincerely Mallam and pray that Allah the Most Beneficient grant you the grace of many more fruitful years amen.
