NANS External Affairs VP applauds Hon. Taura for standing with the Nigerian Students.

The National Vice President external affairs  of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Sen. Muazu Hinna has described Hon. Sa’ad Wada Taura as a stateman.

Senator Hinna disclosed on thursday while interacting with newsmen in Gombe,he said this interaction becomes necessary to applauds Hon.Taura efforts to strengthen and protect the future of Nigerian Students.

According to him,the decision of the House of Representatives calling for the introduction of semester-based school fees payment system for tertiary institutions in the country as a welcome development.

These are efforts are aim reducing the financial burden on students and their parents, They asked the federal ministry of education to work closely with institutions and other stakeholders to provide the necessary support for adopting the school fee payment system. 

Adopting the motion on notice sponsored by Hon. Sa’ad Wada Taura, the House directed the Committees on education and other related committees to work out modalities that will fast its implementation.

The scheme,if adopted will be ease the burden of payment for both the parents and the students in the country considering its viability. It is a semester-based school fee payment system while considering the specific needs and circumstances of each institution. 

Hon.Taura is a federal House of Representatives Representing Ringim/Taura Federal Constituency of Jigawa State who has proven to be the breadwinner of the Nigerian Students with this latest motion.

The increasing demand for cost-effective and efficient education financing models in the nation’s Tertiary institutions is the reason for this bill which will help in greatly reducing the financial hardships been experience by the Nigerian Students.

According to him, the current annual school fee payment system in Nigeria presents financial challenges for students and families given the recent subsidy removal and single-window forex.
