The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has distanced itself from the planned protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) against the recent hike in voice calls and data plan prices. NANS cited that the protest may not address pressing student issues. In a statement signed by Sen. Mu'azu Hina, National Vice President External Affairs of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Gombe, the association disassociated itself from the planned protest by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) against the recent increase in voice calls and data plan prices, citing that the protest may not address pressing student issues.  NANS prioritizes advocating for Nigerian students' welfare and interests, focusing on poor education funding, inadequate infrastructure, and insecurity.
